Death of Paul Méfano, composer and founder of the 2e2m ensemble

With the passing of Paul Méfano (born in 1937) last September, the historic ensemble 2e2m but also the entire musical creative community has lost one of its most active and generous representatives. A renowned and prolific composer (a product of the teachings of the Groupe des Six but also of post-war modernity), an exemplary and respected musical director, an acclaimed arranger (notably his Erwartung!), and an institution director with great leadership: Paul Méfano was all of this - and much more still. A teacher of course, to whom we owe the discovery and training of several generations of established composers, and, above all, a man praised by his peers, a man whose benevolent presence remains in our publisher memories, from one bank of the Seine to the other.

To his family, both personal and musical, we send our message of solidarity and affection. His example leads the way.
