A new bilingual edition of one of the most emblematic works by Iannis Xenaki is going to be released. It is a new publication which is seen from a practical angle as much as a musicological review. We have called in Michel Tranchant who, under the supervision of the composer, recorded the work with Groupe Vocal de France.

A recently rediscovered masterpiece among Giacinto Scelsi’s (1905 – 1988) archives, [Kamakala] was premiered by Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin on January 26th 2014 in Berlin. Now the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra performs the US premiere in Charleston on June 1, 2015.

It is the acquaintance with Philippe Cassard, the merited pianist, which gave rise to this new piano, violin and cello trio project by Baptiste Trotignon. In his “written” composition work, after a string quartet and a flute and piano sonata, Baptiste Trotignon thus experiments with a new form of chamber music, from which he took great pleasure in discovering the unique characteristics.

Two world premieres are coming up for Philippe Hersant in April. On April 2, 2015 Ensemble Les Temps Modernes and Yael Raanan Vandor (contralto) will perform his Chants séfarades in Le Toboggan. Philippe Hersant’s fourth string quartet Quatuor à cordes n° 4. Der gestirnte Himmel (The Starry Sky) will be played by Cypress String Quartet in San Francisco on April 10, 2015 for the first time.
