Oscar Bianchi - Partendo

Oscar Bianchi continues his collaboration with the counter-tenor from Ensemble Recherche, Daniel Gloger, and announces a new piece for voice and ensemble of nine musicians.

Making use of a collaboration with three renowned ensembles, le Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain in La Chaux-de-Fond, the Uusinta ensemble in Helsinki, and the Studio for New Music in Moscow, Oscar Bianchi chose to integrate into his instrumental writing, the notion of movement, which primarily acted as a structural element in the creation of sound material, after being exploited as a visual, theatrical and aesthetic element.

Oscar Bianchi will present two versions of the piece: the first, solely instrumental; the second accompanied by a dancer, whose presence will reinforce the idea that movement interacts with music, as much in a visual way as sound too.

The piece will be premiered on 10th May 2015 at the Festival “Les Amplitudes” in La Chaux-de-Fond.

In the interview for Parade, Oscar Bianchi discusses the stakes of writing this piece, notably with its relationship to movement.
