Eric Tanguy - "Sextuor"

Sextuor for piano and wind quintet  - a real musical kaleidoscope - was commissioned by the Association Internationale de Musique de Chambre and dedicated to Eric Le Sage, Emmanuel Pahud, Paul Meyer, François Leleux, Gilbert Audin and Radovan Vlatkovic, who were also the initiators of this project.

"I was particularly interested in the idea of illustrating the notion of twinning in music and working on the duality similar/different. Therefore, I chose to give a “twin” to each section and to harmonize each come back of musical elements in dissimilar modal scales. So in this piece there is an intent of a sound synergy which allows a poetic exploration of the material-sound and musical colors. Eric Tanguy

The composer thus delivers a new score of chamber music ready to travel the world starting from South-Est Asia with its world premiere in Seoul.
