The event to mark the beginning of 2024: a total work, Justice by Hèctor Parra, directed by Milo Rau and with a libretto by Congolese poet Fiston Mwanza Mujila, brings opera into the modern age! World premiere at Geneva's Grand Théâtre on 22 January.
This opera, conceived as a process from the gathering of testimonies from the families of the victims of an explosion caused by the multinational mining company, through an international trial and culminating in a tribute opera whose libretto is based on the testimonies gathered, questions the form and social role of opera.
