Celebrations for Philippe Manoury's 70th birthday
Philippe Manoury will celebrate his 70th birthday on 19 June - what better occasion for an astounding display of national premieres and repeat performances this month?
The Ircam ManiFeste festival will start the celebrations with Ring, the first part of the Köln Trilogy, performed by the Orchestre de Paris at the Philharmonie de Paris on 8 and 9 June, the Passacaille pour Tokyo, in an already legendary performance by Hideki Nagano and the Ensemble intercontemporain (conducted by Matthias Pintscher), Jupiter, Pluton and Neptune, the first three parts of the Sonus ex Machina cycle on 23 June, still at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Following the remarkable world premiere of Silex in May, Radio France will now present the repeat performances of Last and Neptune, presented at the Auditorium on 19 June... not to mention the international tributes, which will culminate with the Dutch premiere of Kein Licht as part of the prestigious Holland Festival on 24, 25 and 26 June.
