Christian Rivet - "Brisé d'arêtes et bord du vent"
On 19 January, the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix will welcome one of its native artists, the pianist Célimène Daudet, for a concertante premiere by Christian Rivet with the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie conducted by Nicolas Chalvin, its current musical director (before the arrival of Pieter-Jelle de Boer).
The work of Christian Rivet, here in good company (alongside Mozart's concerto no.21 and Haydn's “The Bear” symphony), tells "the story of a future designed in the style of "Dos Passos" with, as a backdrop, literary simultaneism. A story to be detached as closely as possible according to the dotted lines of some traces and other reminiscences" (says the composer). Entitled Brisé d’arêtes et bord du vent, this concerto will be told in six "short stories", "countless reflections that hold a night in suspense". Not only a piece of music, the work is also, again according to its creator, an "invitation to extend the words of the composer by filling the breaths of silence to share the emotion that the latter expresses. These blanks here and there are resonators, extensions towards a more universal sphere. "
