Two national premieres by Philippe Manoury

On 24 March, the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by its guest conductor François-Xavier Roth, will perform the British national premiere of Ring by Philippe Manoury, first volume of the “Trilogie Köln” dedicated to the musical director of the Gürzenich Orchester.

The composer explained at the work’s premiere in 2016 that the “principal elements of his “Trilogie Köln” are the diversity and multiplicity of sound behaviour.” The audience at the London Barbican Centre, surrounded by various heterogeneous musical groups scattered throughout the hall, will experience a spatialised symphonic ensemble, a unique moment in a visionary musical dramaturgy that has already fascinated audiences during the work’s previous performances throughout the continent.

Different audience, different continent: Etats d’alerte [States of Emergency], a commission by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and the Saarbrücken Radio premiered in 2017 by the German percussion duo Victor Kraus and Martin Frink, will now receive its Mexican premiere on 29 April with the Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato conduct by Roberto Beltran Zavala.
