The Ensemble Des Equilibres commissioned three new pieces for piano and violin to three different composers to echo the Three Sonatas for Violin and Piano by Brahms. Regenlied by Philippe Hersant takes its inspiration from the eponymous Brahms’ lied, itself cited in one of these sonatas.

Hersant’s production, already abounding with echoes and inspirations by the legacy of classical music, will be enriched by this virtuoso theme and variations dedicated to interpreters renowned for the sensitivity of their approach: Agnès Pyka and Laurent Wagschal.
