Bechara El-Khoury, "Träume von Wien"
Each new Bechara El-Khoury’s work is an event for those who love the great orchestral symphonic sound and magical instrumentation. This fall (October 24th, world headquarters of UNESCO in Paris) the Franco-Lebanese composer will premiere with l'Orchestre des Jeunes d'Ile-de-France, his second symphony called Träume von Wien (dream of Vienna), which, according to him, “is inspired by the Vienna of the early 20th century, especially the second Vienna School with the sound of Alan Berg’s works for some parts. We find throughout the score the same rhythmic and melodic cells sometimes played in a meditative way, sometimes in an explosive way.
El-Khoury’s « concerto pour clarinette » will also be performed by the first solo clarinet of the French national orchestra, Patrick Messina.
