Christian Rivet : "Étoile double"
Étoile double, for ensemble
Étoile double is the journey, the run of a major second filmed in slow motion which streaks the large universe format canvas that represents the score.
A search for texture, sound… memory and putting silence in perspective.
Supposing that Man were indeed made of stars, the piece is in some way a poetic journey to the heart of the navy and royal blues residing inside each and every one of us.
The crossing of the listener’s internal monologue with nothing but the prelude "Des pas sur la neige" [Steps in the Snow] by Claude Debussy and "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Eliot in mind.
