In this first interview of our series dedicated to the 'French Touch' in orchestral music, the conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus gives us the honour of speaking about his relationship with French music, which he defines in a few words as “refinement, elegance, contained emotion […], modesty”.
He reflects particularly on the composer Darius Milhaud, whom he knew well and whose personality he very much liked – that of a man “truly likeable and extraordinarily human”, and whose music he often conducted.
