The ManiFeste Festival of IRCAM, which will take place from June 7th to July 1st, is traversed by the "clamor of the world," according to its director Frank Madlener. It positions the concert hall as a public space, beginning with Luciano Berio's work Laborintus II, which can be performed "in schools, theaters, on television, outdoors, or in any other place that allows for an audience to gather."
The orchestra and electronics of Sasha J. Blondeau's Cortèges embody this clamor, with its premiere taking place on June 8th at the Philharmonie de Paris, performed by the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Alain Altinoglu. On June 19th, Juste Janulyte's Iridescence and Alberto Posadas' Ubi Sunt will be premiered by the SWR Vokalensemble conducted by Yuval Weinberg as part of the "Lux Aeterna" program at the Cité de la Musique. Finally, on June 22nd, as part of the "Janus" program at IRCAM, Philippe Hersant's work Trois répons de la Semaine sainte will be premiered.
Manifeste 2023 also offers an immersive experience with Game 245 "The Mirror Stage" by Bernhard Lang and presents a young composer as part of the Durand partnership with the ONDIF Elan Prize, Alexandre Jamar, and his creation We will not waste a vowel for harp, electronics, and orchestra.
