World premiere of Roque Rivas at the Presences Festival at Radio France

The composer Roque Rivas, one of the most promising rising stars of the fertile Latin American scene, will be featured at the Présences festival on 13 February with his latest creation Quodlibet. A key ensemble in the history of contemporary music that has accustomed us to a keen perspicacity in their choice of collaborators, the ensemble L'Itinéraire suggested two years ago to this artist, sensitive to "spectral thought (the festival is dedicated to the figure of Tristan Murail) on timbre and harmony", to dedicate this new opus to them. Roque Rivas remembers their first encounter: "The first contemporary music concert that I was able to attend during my first trip to Europe was by the ensemble L'Itinéraire in Paris. I admire the care they take in producing their timbre and their rhythmic precision. These two dimensions are fundamental to my music."

Quodlibet will be conducted at the Studio 104 by the young conductor Léo Margue.
