World premiere of the 2nd Concerto for flute and orchestra, opus 113 Nordic Dreams by Bechara El-Khoury

Almost 7 years after Emmanuel Pahud premiered his first flute concerto Faraway Colours, the Franco-Lebanese composer and poet Bechara El-Khoury now presents his Concerto no.2 for flute & orchestra, opus 113 "Nordic Dreams", which will be premiered on 24 November 2022 in Copenhagen by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the flautist Ulla Miilmann. Before watching the video interview in full, here are a few words from the composer about his work as a symphonist:

“These are Nordic dreams but from the perspective of a composer rooted in the Orient but who grew up in Europe... The great flute virtuoso Ulla Millmann inspired me greatly throughout our written correspondence and this composition is a reflection of the personality of this great international musician!

Our sensitivities are both very similar, like a mirror that reflects a light that comes from the heart towards other human beings... My written conversations with Ulla were a great inspiration and her advice was very important! This is a concerto that is full of poetry for a better world full of love and universal peace...”
