Éric Montalbetti - "Memento Emmanuaile"
New work for solo flute by
Éric Montalbetti composed for
Emmanuel Pahud and in homage to the sculptor Antoine Poncet. The score is available for sale.
A few words from the composer about his work:
Invited by Emmanuel Pahud to compose a new work for solo flute based on my concerto Memento vivere which he premiered with the OSR and Jonathan Nott in Geneva, Lugano and Paris in spring 2019, I composed Memento Emmanuaile in tribute to the sculptor Antoine Poncet, whose work Ailiotrope had accompanied me with his beneficent presence in the composition of the concerto.
I would even say that this sculpture in a way helped me find the shape of my room, in the same desire for elevation.
With this new opus, I am particularly touched to be able to deepen my collaboration with Emmanuel Pahud and that he chose to program it, despite all the difficulties of a season upset by the coronavirus pandemic, both in Vienna and in Berlin.
