Aperghis - Wild Romance

Aperghis - Wild Romance

In this piece the instrumental ensemble plays a revelatory role; it echoes the memory of a voice. It thus uncovers fragments of a buried memory: a memory that is painful, without a doubt, if we are to believe the heightened tension it causes between the singer and the ensemble. There is no obvious story, only scraps of lost memories: we imagine that something very violent happened in the past, something that everyone was eager to forget. Throughout the piece we witness the gradual appearance of acoustic images that aim to reconstruct the puzzle of memory, and that gradually disappear again into silence. Georges Aperghis
